BE A VOLUNTEER:
Your help is needed for any one of a variety of jobs. There's sure to be one you would enjoy.
People are always needed to host the museums during Sunday open hours. It's fun, you meet people, learn about our history, and takes only three hours on a Sunday afternoon. You'll tour or work with an experienced volunteer to learn about the museum and its artifacts.
A group of volunteers meet Wednesday mornings at the Old Jail Museum for a variety of jobs including dusting, building maintenance, cataloging new museum acquisitions and artifact storage, arranging displays, etc.
At their own convenience, volunteers also research topics of local history i which they may have a particular interest. People are also needed to conduct, tape and transcribe oral history interviews.
Call the Society's headquarters at the Old Jail and Museum 870-9599, the education director or any of the museum directors, or stop in at the old Jail most Wednesday mornings (we close for really bad weather, holidays, etc.)
